2013 Scottish Restaurant Awards open for entries
The 2013 Scottish Restaurant Awards are now open for entries.
Celebrating the achievements of the restaurant industry in Scotland, the awards recognise establishments ranging from takeaway outlets to fine-dining restaurants across the country.
Now in their sixth year, the awards are organised by 5pm.co.uk, with new categories this year of Best Use of Social Media and Sustainable Restaurant of the Year.
Last year's Chef of the Year, Jeff Bland, executive chef at the Balmoral Hotel in Edinburgh, said: "The Scottish Restaurant Awards inspire our industry to strive for higher standards, and put not only our restaurants on the map but the Scottish food industry itself.
"The amount of work this industry does towards helping the Scottish economy can often be underestimated. I am delighted we have these awards to recognise the work we are all doing across the board."
The deadline for the 2013 Scottish Restaurant Awards is 22 March, with the awards ceremony to be held on 4 June at Ghillie Dhu in Edinburgh. Full details can be found at www.scottishrestaurantawards.co.uk.
