10 Castle Street restaurant and members club' to open in October

10 Castle Street, a restaurant, bar, and private members' club with rooms is set to open in Dorset this October.

Located in Cranborne Chase, the Grade-II listed property belongs to the Cranborne Estate, and was previously known as Cranborne Lodge, hunting ground of medieval kings. Set within landscaped grounds, the operation has been created by Alex and Gretchen Boon, who previously owned and ran successful country pub with rooms, the King John Inn in Tollard Royal, Wiltshire, and operated a wine merchants in the same area.

Head chef will be Dan Synercombe, who has worked in Midhurst and London, as well as most recently at a private game lodge in South Africa for nine years. He is now based at 10 Castle Street and is overseeing all aspects of the kitchen build.

Members will have use of the bedroom and the first and second floors, which will include a drawing room and dining room, as well as a private chef service. They will also be able to use the public restaurant, bar and garden terrace at preferential club rates, and there are also plans to build a spa and fitness centre, to which all members will automatically gain membership. Member prices will start from £550 per year.

The property will also act as an exhibition space and artists' hub, in which local artists will be able to display their work. The garden will also feature installations by wildlife sculptor Hamish Mackie.
