Umbrella Training wins its second Princess Royal Training Award
Hospitality apprenticeship provider Umbrella Training has won a Princess Royal Training Award to recognise the organisation's exceptional commitment to learning and development.
Her Royal Highness The Princess Royal presented Umbrella founder and CEO Adele Oxberry with the award at a ceremony held at St James's Palace on 23 November.
Alongside 52 recipients, Umbrella, which received its first award in 2020, was recognised for its dedication to training, its skills development programmes, and its positive impact on people.
During the ceremony, Jenni Clarke, commercial director at Umbrella Training, was also selected to share some of the details around the company's programmes with Her Royal Highness.
Oxberry said: "This was such an incredible moment for me and the team. We are ecstatic about receiving this prestigious accolade once again for our Umbrella Colleague Academy.
"Our team are the most important part of our business and year on year investment into our colleagues not only produces amazing results for our apprentices but for our valued business partners as well.
"Our ongoing vision to integrate new technologies into our business and curriculum to increase productivity, retention and positive outcomes means we need to lead the way with our professional development programmes for our team."
The award comes as the apprenticeship provider recently introduced a virtual training programme to target the next generation of commis chefs who are more comfortable learning and experiencing through simulation and VR technology.
