Grace Dent leaves I'm A Celebrity jungle 'on medical grounds'
Restaurant critic Grace Dent has left the I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here! jungle "on medical grounds", ITV has announced.
Announcing the news this morning, makers of the hit show said: "Unfortunately Grace Dent has left the show on medical grounds. She has been a great campmate and will be missed by her fellow celebrities and viewers alike."
The Guardian food critic, who has left after a week in the jungle, had said she was struggling.
She told fellow contestant and campmate Josie Gibson last week: "I've had enough. I've completely had enough. I just want to go home."
Later, in the Bush Telegraph, a room where campmates can air their thoughts, Dent added: "I haven't got a lot left in me at the moment. I'm just keeping on a face for everybody."
Dent had been due to face the next trial, named Down The Tubes, with Gibson.
Ahead of entering the jungle this year, Dent said on the programme's YouTube channel that she was "going to be so hungry" during her stay.
She joined the show, now in its 23rd series, with Channel 4's First Dates and front of house champion Fred Sirieix.
