Bidfood to open Glasgow and Bedford depots in 2023
Bidfood will launch two sites in Glasgow and Bedford in 2023 to add to their 24-strong depot network.
A third depot has been commissioned in the Midlands, but this will not be active until 2024.
The foodservice provider announced that the trio of new depots is part of a wider plan to offer customers a "truly local service".
The 90,000 sq ft site in Glasgow is due to open in early spring of 2023 and will cover the West of Scotland.
The 160,000 sq ft site in Bedford, which will be the company's largest site to date, will be opening in autumn 2023 to bolster service across the South East of England.
Both depots have been designed with technology systems that aim to reduce carbon footprint.
Mark Wood, chief operating officer at Bidfood, said: "This is a really exciting time for the business, as we continue to grow our infrastructure to strengthen our support for customers.
"Both sites will enable us to operate from a high quality and modern facility which will alleviate pressure on existing depots in Scotland and the South East, as well as serve the communities in which they operate by providing jobs to local people."
